miscellaneous movies:
Yep... it's not just those big screen epics (LOL) I been involved with over the years... oh no.

There's been a fair few others of various types and dimensions.

So I thought to meself... what better place to sit down and trawl thru the memory banks to tell you all about them. Some of them are movies I worked on and some of them a projects of me very own.

NailBiter:
Back in the early '90's I linked up with an accountant/solicitor called Greg Hurlstone who had a similar interest in horror to myself. Looking around for something to do, we hit on the idea of producing a horror magazine - but one with a difference. The resulting "Nailbiter" was one of those good ideas that never quite came off.

Now we're all familiar with magazines such as: "Fangoria," "Fear," "Shivers," "Darkside" and "Samhain," etc, etc... Well, the difference with "Nailbiter" was to be that the magazine would actually appear on video rather than the printed page. We managed to cobble together the first episode which included in depth interviews with Doug Bradley (Hellraiser's Pinhead), author Stephen Gallagher and Image Animation boss - and now movie director - Bob Keen.
The programme also gave us the chance to put together a couple of music videos, one for a Middlesborough based band called Warfare and another for Cancer. (The Cancer video is described in greater depth in its own section of the 'site).

Being as young and inexperienced as we were, problems naturally occured for which we were unprepared. The ridiculous burden placed upon us by companies we were supposedly promoting - thousands of pounds in royalties for movie and music clips meant that there was no way we could proceed with the project and unfortunately it bit the dust.

Aahh... what might have been....
This is the artwork for nailbiter... done by a fine artist. You can check out his current work by visiting: organicimage.

Killing Machine:
"Killing Machine" was an almost was project. It's been optioned a couple of times by companies over the years but it never quite made it through to production. Mad Scientist... Ruthless Mercenary... Gorgeous Action Babe... Guns... Explosions... Killer Robots... Etc...

Ah!...the stories I could tell you. There's the whole 'Death Machine' scenario... but maybe that's one of them - "best left for the memoirs..." tales.

Eventually I decided that I had gone as far as I could go with the project in the "Killing Machine" guise - and also a Michael Ironside movie with the same title came out...

However, unable to let go of the central concept I re-jigged it into a new (and hopefully improved) project called 'Non-Stop Combatant'.
Perhaps that will be more successful in reaching the screen.

If you're interested in financing the production of '...Combatant', then drop me a line...
